This chair is made from an elementary school chair from the early Shōwa period and a material composed of cellulose acetate derived from wood. The biodegradable resin originating from wood may be understood as a transformed, contemporary manifestation of timber itself. In this object, materials produced through new technologies and materials that have accumulated several decades of time are brought together and realized in the form of a chair.
